5-Day Face-to-Face Meeting at M24 in Bolivia

Abstract: From February 10 to 14, 2025, the EU-BEGP project team gathered in Cochabamba, Bolivia, for the long-awaited M24 face-to-face meeting. This event marked a crucial milestone, as it represents the twenty-fourth month of the 36-month project, signaling the official start of the final stretch towards its conclusion. The meeting served as a platform to assess progress, refine strategies, and strengthen collaboration between partners from Europe, Central America, and South America.

The event kicked off with an opening session that brought together key stakeholders, including institutional representatives and our project coordinator.

The opening speeches highlighted the achievements of the past two years and laid the groundwork for subsequent discussions. Participants expressed their commitment to making the most of the remaining 12 months to ensure the project’s lasting impact.

1-Day Progress and Periodic Reporting Preparation Meeting at M17

Abstract: On the 26th July 2024, a virtual consortium meeting was held to review the progress of each WP, and also to prepare the information for the first periodic reporting to be EU.

This meeting included the definition of templates so that each MCP could report the progres on staff work, equipment procurement, dissemination activities, and travels related to the project.

Thanks to this meeting the WP Leaders and the Project Coordinator were able to prepare the first periodic report successfully.

5-Day Face-to-Face Meeting at M12 in Guatemala

Abstract: The first EU-BEGP face-to-face meeting was held in Guatemala City, Guatemala, from February 5–9, 2024, with 38 participants from 7 countries (31 in person, 7 online), co-hosted by Universidad San Pablo de Guatemala (USPG-GT) and Universidad Galileo (GALILEO-GT).

The opening session featured welcome speeches from both host universities’ authorities and a representative of the EU Delegation in Guatemala (Lic. Celia Ordoñez), followed by project coordinator Prof. Alex Villazón presenting a summary of the first 12 months of activities and Prof. Torsten Fransson outlining the international scope of the Explore Energy Digital Academy (EEDA).

Throughout the week, all 10 Work Package Leaders reported on first-year progress and plans for year two, with special attention to the engineering designs of the Remote Laboratories.

Two full-day train-the-trainer sessions were held — one on Module Writing and the Quality Improvement Process (QIP) tool, and one on the Challenge-Driven Learning (CDL) methodology — resulting in 11 peer-reviewed Learnify modules.

Two Project Management Board (PMB) meetings addressed financial matters and second-year planning.

M6 Coordination Meeting

Abstract: On 14th August 2023 the first coordination meeting has held virtually.

The meeting was to coordinate the progress and performance report of each WP. Also, the definition of the courses to be implemented was a key point of the meeting.

The organization of the round tables with industrial stakeholder was also discussed, and initial design ideas of the remote laboratories.

The consortium meeting also included the lauch of the project’s website and the use of the Project Management Tool (PMT).

3-Day Kickoff-Meeting

Abstract: A 3 days virtual meeting was organized at the very beginning of the project (from 15 – 17 February 2023).

During the first day of the kick-off meeting the agenda included a quick presentation of each participant, and overview of the project an overall perspective, and an introduction to the Explore Energy Digital Academy (EEDA) concept. Partners also shared experiences on active learning methodologies.

On the 2nd and 3th days, each WP Leader presented the overview of each WP, what each is about, and how the tasks should be completed, in order to reach the expected results.
