PMB #32
On August 25, the 32nd follow-up meeting of the EU-BEGP project (PMB #32) was held, in which the partners met again to review the progress and next steps for each work package.
On this occasion, the discussion focused on some of the most strategic pillars of the project. The development of modules and courses took center stage, as they will determine how students experience the EU-BEGP in the classroom. The partners exchanged information on progress, concerns, and adjustments to ensure that this becomes a true milestone in the academic construction of the project. In addition, the team explored how remote laboratories are evolving into innovative spaces for practical learning, while the Planner is beginning to show its potential as a tool that connects each piece of a curriculum design. Other essential aspects were also addressed at the meeting, such as the report on Gender Balance and dissemination and communication strategies, reminding everyone that the impact of the project goes beyond the classroom and reaches the academic community at large.
These regular meetings not only strengthen coordination among partners, but also allow for reflection on achievements and anticipation of challenges in each line of work. PMB #32 confirmed the commitment of all participants to maintain a steady pace of progress and ensure the quality of results that will make a difference in the education sector.

Recently, on August 4, 2025, the EU-BEGP consortium held its most recent on-line Panel Board Meeting (PMB).
Gathering representatives from all institutions, the meeting served as a space to evaluate progress, advance key deliverables, and reinforce cooperation across the consortium in pursuit of shared goals. The discussion focused on advancing key deliverables, strengthening collaboration across partners, and aligning project outcomes with the broader objectives of capacity building in higher education.
A central point was the collaborative spirit created within the consortium, with new initiatives emerging to encourage joint research, co-authored papers, and collaborative international learning opportunities. These efforts reflect the project’s commitment not only to producing concrete outputs but also to building a lasting culture of academic cooperation and innovation
The PMB reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining momentum during the upcoming months, ensuring that the project continues to deliver meaningful impact for universities, students, and industry stakeholders alike.

On July 7, 2025, the EU-BEGP consortium held its 30th Panel Board Meeting (PMB), bringing together partners for another focused and productive session.
Key topics included the preparation of upcoming deliverables, ensuring each work package continues on track and aligned with our shared roadmap. Partners also shared updates on the peer-review process for the Learnify modules, a critical step in refining our digital content and guaranteeing quality across all materials.
One of the highlights was the proposal to explore COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) as a powerful method to strengthen international collaboration across classrooms, an exciting idea that could extend the project’s academic impact even further.
As always, the meeting served as a reminder of how much can be achieved when we combine commitment, creativity, and coordination across borders.

Held on June 2nd, 2025, the 29th Panel Board Meeting (PMB) of the EU-BEGP consortium once again demonstrated the project’s commitment to coordination, accountability, and collaborative progress. With key milestones approaching, the meeting provided a strategic space to align efforts, evaluate implementation status, and reaffirm partner responsibilities.
The session reflected the project’s transition from planning to consolidation, as partners focused on ensuring quality and timeliness across ongoing developments.

PMB #27
The EU-BEGP consortium held its 27th Panel Board Meeting virtually on April 14th, bringing together partners from across Latin America and Europe to assess progress and align next steps, as the project moves into its final stretch.
With participation from work package leaders, the meeting served as a valuable opportunity to align efforts and reinforce the collaborative spirit that has defined EU-BEGP from the beginning. This session focused on reviewing the progress across key areas of the project, including updates on the development of digital learning modules across partner institutions, the ongoing creation of real-world educational challenges and planning tools, and the advancement of the Train-the-Trainers initiative, which is empowering faculty to build and co-create innovative content on the Learnify platform.
Partners also reported on the continued setup and deployment of remote laboratories, which are helping bring practical experimentation opportunities to students—regardless of geography.
The meeting concluded with updates on dissemination activities, including this very newsletter, as well as a brief overview of the recent Energy Digital Academy (EEDA) meeting in Sweden.

The meeting covered a range of pivotal topics, including the corresponding funds distribution, ensuring smooth financial management across the consortium.
Another key point of discussion was the upcoming M24 Meeting in Bolivia, with the agenda taking shape as partners prepare for an important in-person gathering. Additionally, Work Package Leaders provided updates on the development of various project modules, adjusting tentative deliverable deadlines to align with progress and priorities. The meeting also included a follow-up on dissemination efforts, particularly regarding newsletter updates. The session concluded with an open Q&A, allowing partners to address any pending concerns and reinforce collaborative efforts moving forward.

The EU-BEGP Project Management Board (PMB) meetings serve as a cornerstone for ensuring the project’s success. These monthly gatherings bring together key partners—this time with 15 participants—to discuss updates, address challenges, and plan future activities.
During this meeting, project’s coordinator Alex Villazón highlighted the submission of the M18 report for review by the central office, underscoring the importance of transparency and accountability in project management.
These meetings integrate effective communication, collaboration, and decision-making, ensuring that all partners
remain aligned and the project’s objectives are achieved efficiently.

On September 16, 2024, the EU-BEGP consortium held its 20th Project Management Board (PMB) meeting. The agenda included important information from the Project Coordinator, Dr. Alex Villazón, regarding the Periodic Report, along with a review of the current financial summary based on data submissions, bringing together partners to discuss key updates and project milestones. Each Work Package (WP) leader presented updates on the Technical Report, and additionally, the meeting included a brief discussion on preparations for the upcoming M24 meeting in Cochabamba, Bolivia, to be held in February 2025 as the second face-to-face meeting of the project

On August 19, 2024, the 19th Project Management Board (PMB) meeting was held, bringing together MCPs (Main Contact Persons) from the various universities involved in the EU-BEGP Project. This meeting was crucial in evaluating the progress made so far and outlining the strategic direction for upcoming activities. One of the significant milestones defined during the meeting was the planned launch of remote laboratories, scheduled for the 24th month of the Project. This initiative marks a pivotal step in enhancing the accessibility and practical application of digital education tools across the participating institutions, including the Learnify Modules adapted to the courses.
Additionally, the PMB discussed the plans for the next face-to-face consortium meeting, which will take place in Cochabamba, Bolivia. This gathering will be an excellent opportunity for deeper collaboration, sharing insights, and ensuring the project’s objectives are being met effectively.
These discussions and decisions underscore the EU-BEGP Project’s commitment to driving forward the modernization of education, with a focus on innovation, collaboration, and the successful implementation of key initiatives!

This comprehensive exchange allowed the entire team to vividly see our collective advancements, set clear goals, and stay aligned with our timeline as we approach the crucial M18 report. The energy in the virtual room was palpable, with each partner showing the dedication and innovation driving our project forward. It’s this kind of synergy and shared vision that propels us towards success, and we couldn’t be more excited for the road ahead!
